Australian Quad Motocross Championships on the Horizon

October 14, 2008 - ATV racers across Australia are preparing to head to Smithton, Tasmania, for the Australian Quad Motocross Championships to be held on October 25 and 26.

Honda champion Chris Brenton will be competing for his third Australian championship after winning his third WA state title last month.

Brenton will be racing against teammate and current national champion Anthony Yewers (who also holds the Veterans 35+ title).

Both west coasters ride Honda Shop Midland supported TRX 450ERs, and have become friendly rivals since Brenton, the national champion in 2005 and 2006, was beaten by Yewers last year.

Yewers came second to Brenton at the most recent WA championships.

“I’m at a good stage and mentally focused. The bike has been going great and I have all the faith in the ’08 Honda to get me over the line in the number one spot,” Brenton said.

“We had to sort out a few minor problems, but other than that, it’s been super good.”

After this year’s Australian Championship wraps up, Brenton is aiming to head to America next year to ride for Honda on the AMA circuit.

The five race Oz series takes place over two days and is the biggest quad racing event in the country.
