New Manager For HART Victoria

28 October 2008 - Honda Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Grant Carr to the position of Manager, Honda Australia Rider Training (HART), Victoria.

For the past 12 years, Grant has held many roles within HART including Instructor, Senior Instructor and Operations Coordinator, and has a long history of training thousands of motorcyclists nationally including Australia Post staff.

In addition to having a background in customer service and 21 years as a rider, Grant is an avid motorcyclist who rides his 2008 CBR1000RR Fireblade to work most days.

“I prefer to ride than take the car as it is easier to park, no tolls and thoroughly enjoyable.”

“Assisting at the Honda Riders Club kids’ mini bike days is one of my favourite things to do. I honestly enjoy meeting present and past students who share the same passion for motorcycling that I and all the HART instructors have.”

In regard to the future of motorcycling, Grant says he would like to encourage all riders, regardless of their skill.

“We would like to see motorcycles and scooters recognised as a more mainstream form of transport and would argue for compulsory training as part of the licensing scheme in Victoria."

“There is a need to increase the standard of training offered to all motorcyclists.”

“HART is considered world-class at what we do, so I am very proud to be associated with this operation, and am very excited to be taking on this new challenge,” he added.

HART is Victoria’s leading, accredited provider of rider training programs. They offer road and off road courses from beginner to advanced, including specialised courses for those returning to riding after a sustained break.

HART are the only accredited training provider who currently utilise a riding simulator as part of their course curriculum.

There are currently two HART centres located in Victoria at Tullamarine and Kilsyth, with additional centres located in St Ives, NSW and Brisbane.
