Brenton Takes Second In Australian Quad MX Championship

13 November 2008 – Honda ATV champion Chris Brenton has wrapped up his season with a second place in the Australian Quad Motocross Championships held last month in Smithton, Tasmania.

The two-time Australian quad motocross champion and current three-time WA champion, finished just six points behind winner Ryan Lancaster after securing second in the first two races.

Brenton was caught on the starting gates in a very muddy race three, but recorded the second fastest lap time, ultimately cutting through to ninth place.

Showing the consistency that has complemented his brilliant performance throughout the year on board the Honda TRX450, Brenton came back to win race four and five, however it wasn’t quite enough to recover the points needed to take home the winner’s trophy.

“It’s disappointing to leave with the number two plate after riding so well all year and winning the WA championship for the third time, but the best man won on the day” said Brenton.

“I was super stoked with the way I rode all weekend. I knew the Honda would holeshot from the beginning; it’s been a great bike to ride all year.”

“This season has been a long one. I’m going to take some time off before preparing for next year.”

“I’d like to thank Honda and the Honda Shop in Perth for all of their help. Without them it wouldn’t be possible to race at the level I do.”

Brenton’s teammate and last year’s Australian champion Anthony Yewers also took out the Veterans class for the second time despite injury and technical problems.

Both Honda riders are already looking forward to the 2009 Australian Quad Motocross Championships, to be held in Murray Bridge, South Australia.
