Honda Leaves A Wake In The Field At Penultimate MRRDA Round

29 August 2008 - Honda's CBR150 Junior and MD250H riders made an indelible mark at last weekend's fourth and penultimate round of the MRRDA series at New South Wales' Wakefield Park circuit.

Seventeen-year-old Brodie Waters once again joined the 125GP class on board his Motologic sponsored Moriwaki 250 four-stroke Honda, leaving the field in his wake and securing a win in each of the three races.

According to Motologic's Paul Free, Brodie's times continue to impress all in the field.

"Brodie was on lap record pace at Wakefield with a 1:04.7 so that is a good gauge of where he is at. The bike and tyres are working for him," Free said.

Former club level Supersport racer and Honda's own NSW Territory Manager also joined in the GP class fun after not having attempted a competitive event for a number of years.

After only receiving his MD250H three days prior to the round, Hindle had very little time to do much more than paint the bike in a custom black and chrome scheme prior to the meeting.

"My first impression was that the 250 was amazing straight out of the box," Hindle said. "I wasn't sure what to expect having raced larger bikes with older technology."

"It handles extremely well and what is so great about it is that a young rider can straight away jump on what I would consider a race-ready machine for relatively little money."

In the CBR150 class, the junior riders once again put on a spectacle worthy of their professional heroes.

The racing was fast and furious, with the contest between teenagers Josh Hook, Brody Nowlan, Michael Jones and Ryan Dymond bringing everyone to their feet in excitement.

"It is incredible that at such a young age, these guys are able to race with such a high level of confidence and skill," Free said.

"There was only about .1 of a second between those top four riders, and they all performed with absolute competency."

"I think we are definitely seeing some future champions in the making here."

The final round of the MRRDA will be held at Phillip Island, VIC on 6-7 September 2008. For information, please visit:
