Welcome to issue #30 of Red Rider.

After a hectic six months new HRCA Assistant Manager Barry French and I have settled into the role and are looking forward to bringing about even more changes to HRCA and its charter and direction.

The one constant is that membership enquires, questions, renewals and new membership applications keep rolling in.

There have been several changes to the way HRCA goes about it business over the last six months or so. For those of you that have received your renewed (or new) Membership the biggest and most obvious change is the presentation of the Club Membership in the form of a "push out" laminated card. HRCA have struck up a strategic alliance with a great business partner of Honda's (Australia Post) and moved into a new level of surface mail communications. We are proud to say that this partnership has resulted in a streamlining of the renewals process as well as that of the membership renewal reminder letters.

Whilst on the subject of communications, I would encourage all HRCA members who use email on a regular basis, to let us know your email addresses. Communication via email is fast, efficient, and above all (for us) much more cost effective. If you have given us an email address in the past, and have changed it, it would also be of great benefit to us, if you could take the time to let us know.

Also HRCA have physically moved office. We now reside in Honda's new premises at 200 Sydney Road, Somerton (Vic). This is a strategic alliance with Honda Australia Rider Training (HART). We know that there are administrative advantages to being located with HART, and in future we will be able to invite HRCA members to join us at the location as a social meeting point or as a place to kick-off a social ride.

We have also been able to convince the Directors that HRCA needs its own minibike track. With a lot of help from our friends we are close to opening up our minibike track, at which we will be able to host our own minibike ride days. As you can imagine there are many hurdles (insurance and safety related) to be cleared in taking on such a task, however we are nearly there. Look out for invitations to our first Somerton minibike day soon.

Whilst all this has been happening we have still managed to pull together another issue of the HRCA magazine "Red Rider". This edition is packed full of Honda related news and information, with a really nice story about one of the true legends at Honda MPE, Mick Smith. Mick has retired from Honda after over a quarter of a century of service, and we could not let the occasion go without paying a tribute to him. This and a number of other stories including the Hattah Desert Race, HART, ride events and general news on all that is Honda make Red Rider No. 30 great reading.

Just briefly if you wish to attend the Corporate HRCA marquee at MotoGP get your entry in now, it is selling out fast. This, along with the "Dinner with the Champions" should be another wonderful event, so don't be disappointed, send in your entry form now.
